Domestic Violence Vigil 20th Anniversary

vigil.jpg

This October 16, 2007, marks the 20th anniversary of the YWCA/ Women-Helping-Women Domestic Violence Vigil. Each year, women, children and men in Cincinnati are lost to domestic violence. Fortunately the number of deaths is decreasing. Gather at the Hamilton County Courthouse steps to honor the memory of those who have died at the hands of their intimate partners, with candlelight. Beginning at 11 am on Oct. 16th, there will be information booths and presentations about the vigil at Fountain Square.

The vigil begins at 6:45 pm and lasts until approximately 8:30pm. MUSE Cincinnati's Women's Choir will perform throughout the memorial service. This event is also on the 20/20 listing of events.

Additional notes:

On Tuesday, October 2 at 7am, a breakfast will be held at the YWCA; inviting people from the community to learn about domestic violence. For more information, call 513-241-7090.
