MUSE Receives $45,000 Grant to Fund Managing Director Position
MUSE- Cincinnati’s Women’s Choir received a three-year $45,000 grant from The Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) to help fund a new part-time position of managing director. Having a paid staff person dedicated to managing the day-to-day operations of the choir will enable the artistic director and singers to focus on the artistic side of MUSE and respond more nimbly to requests for performances. It will also increase MUSE’s ability to concentrate more intensely on such areas as audience development,
fundraising, data management, social media presence and collaborative opportunities.
MUSE - Cincinnati's Women's Choir, now in her 30th season, is dedicated to musical excellence and social change and performs an average of 20 concerts and run-out events annually. Highlights have included a full concert in the Ohio Reformatory for Women, the New Spirituals project concerts, commissioning new works and the recording of 5 CDs. Membership in the choir is by audition and the membership of 65 ranges in age from 20 to 75. MUSE works hard to mirror and bring together in harmony the rich diversity of Cincinnati, their home city. The process for hiring the new Managing Director has begun and the position will be announced soon. Applications will be accepted and the search committee will begin their work in hiring the new MUSE team member.
