MUSE will participate in the annual GLSEN Youth Summit held at NKU.
The summit creates a safe space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) and straight supportive youth to meet, learn, network with one another and develop important skills.
Throughout the day, youth attend workshops to develop the leadership skills and tools necessary to actively participate in the civic process and to challenge stereotypes and discrimination when they return to their schools. Last year, over 200 youth and adults attended workshops on topics such as coming out, hate crimes, community organizing, personal health and safety, LGBT history and literature, and creating safe schools.
The summit will take place at Northern Kentucky University on Saturday, September 22, 10am-8pm and, as always, it is 100% free for youth to attend, including both lunch and dinner.
