In Loving Memory of Ruth Rowan

~~Memoriam~~ It is with deepest sadness that we share with you that Ruth Rowan passed away July 22, 2015. She was our Interpreter Extraordinaire for over thirty years ~ helping MUSE create an inclusive experience for our hearing impaired audience, and adding immeasurable beauty to our performances.

It is impossible to put into words just how much Ruth means to us, and what a loss this is for our choir and our community. Please join your heart with ours as we remember & celebrate Ruth during our upcoming season.

If you wish to contribute into a fund established to offset the substantial expenses incurred during Ruth’s illness, please visit Bring Ruth Home .

Ruth's family requests that any memorial gifts be made to MUSE (click here) or the National Women's Music Festival (click here).

Ruth Rowan delivered the music of MUSE to the hearing impaired at MUSE concerts for thirty years. She held a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology and a Master’s degree in Deaf Education from the University of Cincinnati. In June of 2006, Ruth retired from teaching Deaf students in Cincinnati Public Schools and became a freelance interpreter. Ruth was an active board member for Women in the Arts, the producers of the National Women’s Music Festival. She always called MUSE her first love. We send our love to her, and to her family and friends.
